Options for Customized Graphics on the Guidescope Menu:

Your Canvas - Graphics Requirements
Your canvas is a 12x84 rectangle, shown on the left as a gray rectangle
to illustrate how much room you have to work with on the Guidescope Menu.
Your graphic file is uploaded to our server as part of your
Affiliate Application.
Your static (not animated) graphics must be saved in "gif" or "png" format in a file that is
no larger than 1.7 kbytes. If it is not, the Affiliate Application form will not upload it.

Style Guidelines

We recommend that you design your graphic to match the style of the rest
of the links on the Menu. Here are the standards we follow:

Automatic Graphic Generation

We'll automatically generate a "png" graphic for you that follows the
above style guidelines. Use the following form to enter the text that you
want to appear on the Guidescope Menu. We'll generate a graphic that
you can use and show you how it will look on the Guidescope Menu.

Live Testing
| |
You can test your graphic and hyperlink live on the Guidescope Menu. Here's how:
|
- Design your graphic as described above. Copy your graphic file to the
directory in which you installed the Guidescope Software.
- Use a text editor to create a file named "cobrand.txt" in the
directory in which you installed the Guidescope Software.
Enter three lines in cobrand.txt:
- The name of your graphics file.
- The full URL of your hyperlink.
- The name of your organization or site.
For example, if the name of your graphic is "menu.gif", your
URL is "http://www.YourCompanysName.com", and your company name
is "My Company's Name", your cobrand.txt
file would contain:
menu.gif
http://www.YourCompanysName.com
My Company's Name

- As soon as you have both your graphic file and
cobrand.txt in place,
go to your User Profile. Verify
that your organization or site name appears on the "Customize the Guidescope Menu" form.
If "Co-Brand" is not checked there, be sure to check it. It is checked by default
for all users that install co-branded versions of the Guidescope Software.
Most users leave settings unchanged.
- Go to our home page to reload
the Guidescope Menu. You should see your graphic
on the bottom of the Menu on our home page and also on the separate Guidescope
Menu that opens on your desktop! Click on your graphic to open a new window with your URL.
Once you are satisfied with your design, you are ready to submit your
Affiliate Application.
