How to Control Cookies
What are Cookies?

An explanation of what cookies are and how cookies and cookie blocking work is here.

How do I allow a site to set and read cookies?

Use the Cookie List to give permission to sites:

  1. First make sure that Cookie Blocking is turned "ON" on the Guidescope Menu, as shown on the right.

  2. When you want to allow a site to both set and read cookies on your computer, simply visit the site. If the site attempts to set or read cookies it will then appear on the Cookie List.

  3. Next, click on the "Cookie List" button on the Guidescope Menu to open the Cookie List. Find and check the box next to the site's domain name to give it permission to set and read cookies. When you are done checking boxes, press "Submit".

  4. Reload the site's page to give it a chance to set the cookies it wants on your computer.

How do I revoke permission from a site?

  1. First make sure that Cookie Blocking is turned "ON" on the Guidescope Menu, as shown above on the right.

  2. Next, click on the "Cookie List" button on the Guidescope Menu to open the Cookie List.

  3. If the site's domain (or the last part of the site's domain) doesn't appear in the Cookie list next to a checked box, then that site doesn't have permission. Nothing more is required. Simply close the Cookie List.

  4. If the site's domain (or the last part of the site's domain) appears in the Cookie List next to a checked box, simply uncheck the box (or boxes) and press "Submit". The name will remain unchecked in the Cookie List for 15 minutes, in case you change your mind and want to re-allow cookies.
