User Profile
How do I access my user profile?

Once you have installed our free software, click on the "User Profile" hyperlink at the top and bottom of pages on our Web site to go to your User Profile page. You will find forms there for editing your User Profile.

You can also put a Profile on the Menu linked to your User Profile on your Guidescope Menu.

How do I edit my User Information?

Edit your user information on the User Information form. All user information is optional.

If you enter your ZIP code, then the "Weather" button (see below) on the Guidescope Menu will give you your local weather.

The more information you provide, the better we can match your area of interest in the Opt-In Offers you request.

How do I edit how Blocked Graphics Appear?

Select how you want blocked graphics to appear using the Blocked Graphics' Appearance form. You can have your browser:

  • Leave blank space where the blocked graphics would have been or

  • Display an outlined icon (the same icon your browser normally shows in place of missing graphics) or

  • Display a gray rectangle.

Outlined icons sometimes get confused with graphics that fail to download, so most users choose one of the other options. Blank space gives the cleanest look. Gray rectangles show where ads would have been, so you can avoid clicking on their hyperlinks.

How do I set what happens on "Page Not Found"?

Select what happens when your browser is sent the message "404 - page not found" on the Page Not Found form. If you want the Web Archive window to open, then select "Try archive". If you don't want it to open, then select "Don't try".

How do I customize the Guidescope Menu?

Customize the Guidescope Menu using the Customize the Guidescope Menu form. Turn on the links that you want to appear on the Guidescope Menu. Turn off the links that you don't want to appear. For links that have select lists (like Search), choose the page that you want from the list provided.

You can also control the position of the small Guidescope Menu on your desktop. It can "float", which leaves it where you place it, or it can be automatically placed in one of the four corners of your computer screen. (It is not possible to force it to stay on top of all other windows. With Windows, you can click on the Taskbar button that starts with "GM -" to bring it to the top.)

Links other than those shown here may also appear on the Guidescope Menu. If they are customizable, then they will also appear on this form. The customizable links include:
