Uninstalling our software consists of two steps:
|
- Restoring your browser's proxy settings.
For all systems, put your browser's manual proxy settings back the way
you found them during initial installation and make sure that you can
connect to the Internet. Once you have done this, you are no longer
using the Guidescope service and you can remove the Guidescope software.
If you aren't sure how your browser was configured before installation,
detailed instructions are available below.
- Removing our software from your computer.
Windows
For Windows95/98/ME/NT/2K, open "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control
Panel directory. Click on "Guidescope" and press the "Remove" button.
Follow the instructions in the UninstallShield. Reboot your computer to
remove the Guidescope Icon from your Windows Tray and you are done.
If for some reason our UninstallShield fails, then you can remove
our software manually. (We don't "take over" any registry settings or
replace any ".dll"s on your computer, so a manual removal of our
software is safe.)
First, delete the Guidescope shortcut from the Windows "StartUp" directory.
Next, delete the contents of our program directory, which is typically
"C:\Program Files\Guidescope\".
Finally, reboot your computer. You should no longer have our Icon
in your Windows Tray.
Linux or Solaris
For Linux or Solaris, "rm" the contents of the directory in which you
installed our software.
