Netscape 4 Uninstall With Proxy
Disconnect Netscape from our software and to your proxy:

  1. Print out these instructions! After you start following them you won't be able to scroll this window down to see the rest of these instructions.

  2. Start Netscape 4 and make sure that you are connected to the Internet and can browse.

  3. Select "Edit" and "Preferences..." from Netscape's top menu, as shown on the right. The "Preferences" form will pop up, as shown below.

  4. Click on the icon next to "Advanced".

  5. Click on "Proxies".

  6. Click on "View" to open the "Manual Proxy Configuration" form, shown on the right.

  7. There should already be an entry for the HTTP address and port, as shown in the example on the right. The entry should either be "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" for the address and "8000" for the port. You will replace these entries with the address and port you found in your forward.ini file.

  8. Enter the address and port from your forward.ini file, as shown on the right. Do not change any other entries on the form; only change the entries for HTTP. Use your address and port values, not those shown in the example.

  9. Click "OK" to complete the Manual Proxy Configuration form.

  10. Click "OK" to complete the Preferences form.

  11. Reconfiguration is complete. Your browser is now configured to not use the Guidescope service. Verify that you can browse before proceeding. You can safely remove the Guidescope software from your computer
