IE 4/Windows with AOL Setup

Connect Internet Explorer 4 to our software:

  1. Print out these instructions! After you start following them you won't be able to scroll this window down to see the rest of these instructions.
     
  2. Start Internet Explorer 4 and make sure that you are connected to the Internet and can browse.
     
  3. Select "View" and "Internet Options..." from IE's top menu, as shown on the right. The "Internet Options" form will pop up, as shown below. Click on the "Connections" tab.
     
     


  4. Check "Access the Internet using a proxy server".
  5. Click on "Advanced" to open the "Proxy Settings" form, shown on the right.
     
  6. If the checkbox "Use the same proxy server for all protocols" is checked, then uncheck it.
     
  7. Enter HTTP Address "127.0.0.1" and Port "8000" as shown. Note that the address has three "dots" in it! Do not change the other address or port entries on the form.
     
  8. Click "OK" to complete the Proxy Settings form.
     
  9. Click "OK" to complete the Internet Options form.
     
  10. Setup is complete. Your browser is now configured to use the Guidescope service.
