IE 5/Windows Uninstall

Disconnect Internet Explorer 5 from our software:

  1. Print out these instructions! After you start following them you won't be able to scroll this window down to see the rest of these instructions.
     
  2. Start Internet Explorer 5 and make sure that you are connected to the Internet and can browse.
     
  3. Select "Tools" and "Internet Options..." from IE's top menu, as shown on the right. The "Internet Options" form will pop up, as shown below. Click on the "Connections" tab.
     
  4. If there are ISPs listed in the "Dial-up settings" section, for each ISP select the ISP and click on "Settings" in the "Dial-up settings" section and follow steps 5 through 7. If not, then skip to step 8.
     


     
  5. If "Use a proxy server" is checked on the Settings form, uncheck it.
     
  6. If "Use automatic configuration script" is checked in the "Automatic configuration" section shown above, contact your system administrator before proceeding to find out what script you should use instead of the script that uses the Guidescope software.
     
  7. Close the ISP Settings form. You should be back on the "Internet Options" form.
     
  8. Click on "LAN Settings..." in the "LAN Settings" section of the "Internet Options" form shown above.
     
  9. If "Use a proxy server" is checked on the LAN Settings form, uncheck it.
     
  10. If "Use automatic configuration script" is checked in the "Automatic configuration" section, contact your system administrator before proceeding to find out what script you should use instead of the script that uses the Guidescope software.
     
  11. Close the LAN Settings form.
     
  12. Close the "Internet Options" form.
     
  13. Reconfiguration is complete. Your browser is now configured to not use the Guidescope service. Verify that you can browse before proceeding. You can safely remove the Guidescope software from your computer
